Nucleic acid gel electrophoresis

Home  /  Products  /  Nucleic acid gel electrophoresis

Electrophoresis is a very common laboratory technique used to identify, quantify and purify nucleic acid fragments. The samples are loaded into the agar or acrylamide gel wells and subjected to an electric field, so that the negatively charged nucleic acids will move towards the positive electrode. Shorter fragments of NA will travel through the gel more quickly, while larger fragments will travel more slowly, resulting in a separation based on size.
